We are looking for a seasoned and proactive Warehouse Operations Supervisor for our client, a reputable manufacturing firm located in Epping, Cape Town. The ideal candidate will bring significant management experience, superior organizational skills, and extensive knowledge of warehouse operations, production, or logistics. Applicants should hold a Grade 12/Matric certification, demonstrate proficiency in both Afrikaans and English, possess computer literacy, and have access to a dependable means of transportation. Familiarity with ERP systems and relevant qualifications in Operations, Production, or Logistics are highly desirable.


EMPLOYMENT TYPE : Permanent SECTOR : Warehousing / Manufacturing BASIC SALARY : R36 000.00 + Benefits START DATE : As soon as possible


REQUIREMENTS: - Minimum Matric / Grade 12 qualification. - Qualification in Operations, Production, Logistics, or related field is advantageous. - Fluent in Afrikaans and English. - Reliable personal transportation required. - Proven management or supervisory experience. - Computer literate with proficiency in office software. - Previous ERP system experience is a plus.


DUTIES: - Oversee the completion of all pre-14:30 orders, ensuring they are picked and handed to Dispatch for verification at the end of each shift. - Manage picking operations to maintain productivity, allowing orders placed after 14:30 to be scheduled for the next day where feasible. - Update and review the back-order report at the end of each shift. - Track, report, and resolve picking and system errors or delays, investigating discrepancies between physical stock and system records. - Promptly report any incidents or errors to the General Manager. - Ensure staff adhere to all attendance requirements, preventing premature departure if picking activities are incomplete. - Maintain accurate daily records, reconciling all picking slips to minimize unnecessary reprints. - Collaborate with Dispatch on potential delays or operational issues. - Restrict access to the Whole Goods and Finished Goods warehouses to authorized personnel only. - Ensure warehouse entrances are locked when not in use and that stock remains secure. - Supervise the use of warehouse forklifts, ensuring they are serviced and maintained according to schedule. - Manage pallets daily, ensuring proper repacking of pooled pallets and allocation for dispatch. - Promptly pack away all incoming stock, avoiding warehouse floor accumulation for over 48 hours. - Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe warehouse, including clean floors and racking. - Implement FIFO (First In, First Out) stock management principles. - Follow current systems, procedures, and good warehousing practices for stock recovery, samples, stacking, etc. - Effectively manage temporary, casual, and container staff, maximizing productivity and minimizing inefficiencies. - Oversee waste management to ensure efficient and controlled resource use. - Take responsibility for yard maintenance and perimeter security. - Ensure compliance with food safety management systems, quality standards, policies, and procedures. - Adhere to all occupational health and safety regulations. - Ensure warehouse staff comply with housekeeping and workplace standards. - Complete all required food safety and operational documentation daily. - Attend food safety inspections, committee meetings, and operational meetings as necessary, ensuring timely completion and signing off of actions. - Adhere to all food safety requirements and report any violations to the relevant manager. - Perform any other duties as required by operational needs. - Notify relevant personnel when stock levels are critically low or expected stock is not received. - Manage, train, and develop warehouse staff on company policies, procedures, and operational requirements. - Drive continuous improvement in all warehouse functions. - Maintain accurate attendance registers and complete relevant leave and overtime documentation. - Manage warehouse staff to achieve maximum productivity and operational efficiency. - Keep the warehouse in a stock-take-ready condition at all times. - Plan, coordinate, and manage all stock takes and cycle counts, ensuring accurate reconciliations and reporting. - Review and authorize stock adjustments and credit notes, ensuring proper processing of returned stock. - Handle employee relations and disciplinary matters according to company procedures. - Maintain complete and auditable records in all warehousing processes. - Ensure compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHS Act) and all applicable regulations. - Perform ad hoc duties in other departments as needed. - Prepare and maintain daily and monthly operational reports. - Provide accurate and timely information to the General Manager and other senior management. - Assist with the training and development of warehouse personnel. - Communicate regularly with internal and external customers regarding picking, receiving, and order-related activities. - Manage costs within the Warehouse Operations Supervisor’s area of responsibility and ensure resources support operational needs. - Assist with investigations into delivery failures, picking errors, credits, and other operational discrepancies. - Liaise with relevant departments and customers regarding order status and delivery times. - Maintain a strong focus on customer service to address customer requirements professionally and efficiently. - Perform any other reasonable duties as required to support the business’s operational needs.
