Status Staffing is currently recruiting for a proficient Maintenance Technician / Millwright for our client based in Somerset West, Cape Town. Candidates must possess a Trade-tested Millwright qualification and have 3–5 years’ experience in maintenance, ideally within the FMCG, food processing, or packaging sectors. The successful individual should demonstrate strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, as well as expertise in automated systems, 3-phase motors, variable speed drives, pneumatic systems, and industrial sensors.

The ideal candidate should be a self-motivated professional with robust analytical and problem-solving abilities, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the capability to work rotational shifts and weekends.

Requirements: - Trade-tested Millwright qualification - 3–5 years’ maintenance experience, ideally in FMCG, food processing, or packaging - Experience with automated production equipment - Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills - Familiarity with 3-phase motors, variable speed drives (VSDs), pneumatic systems, and industrial sensors - Ability to interpret wiring diagrams and machine schematics - Capability to work rotational shifts and weekends - Self-starter with independent working ability - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills - Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Duties: - Ensure the reliability of production equipment - Carry out preventative maintenance activities - Provide support for utilities and infrastructure - Manage maintenance systems and stores control - Ensure compliance with health, safety, and food safety regulations - Achieve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) - Address all breakdowns and minor maintenance tasks within the set turnaround period - Maintain maintenance costs within the budget - Meet maintenance schedule attainment targets
