Position Details

Status Staffing is currently recruiting for a proficient Maintenance Technician / Millwright for our client based in Somerset West, Cape Town. Candidates must hold a Trade-tested Millwright qualification and possess 3–5 years of maintenance experience, ideally in an FMCG, food processing, or packaging setting.

Applicants should demonstrate strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills and experience with automated systems, including 3-phase motors, variable speed drives, pneumatic systems, and industrial sensors. The ideal candidate is a proactive individual with excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities, along with strong verbal and written communication skills. Flexibility to work rotational shifts and weekends is required.

Salary: Market Related Basic Salary: R35 000 – R40 000 + Benefits Start Date: A. S. A. P.

Requirements: - Trade-tested Millwright qualification. - 3–5 years of maintenance experience, preferably in an FMCG, food processing, or packaging environment. - Proficiency in working with automated production equipment. - Strong fault-finding skills in both mechanical and electrical systems. - Experience with 3-phase motors, variable speed drives (VSDs), pneumatic systems, and industrial sensors. - Ability to interpret wiring diagrams and machine schematics. - Capability to work on rotational shifts and weekends. - Self-starter with the ability to work independently. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Duties: - Ensure the reliability of production equipment. - Execute preventative maintenance activities. - Provide support for utilities and infrastructure. - Manage maintenance systems and stores control. - Ensure compliance with health, safety, and food safety requirements. - Achieve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE). - Attend to all breakdowns and minor maintenance activities within the targeted turnaround period. - Maintain maintenance costs within budget. - Achieve maintenance schedule attainment targets.
