A full-time position for a Qualified Mechanic is currently available in the Robertville area. This role emphasizes a hands-on approach to fleet management.

Requirements

Educational Qualification: Completion of trade tests for both petrol and diesel mechanics.

Experience: Minimum of 5-8 years in mechanical work with petrol and diesel vehicles.

Knowledge: In-depth understanding of workshop consumables and vehicle parts, as well as a comprehensive grasp of the workshop environment.

Skills: Proficiency in fault diagnostics is essential. Experience in auto electrical work is required.

Licenses: Must hold a valid driver’s license and possess personal reliable transportation.

Additional Criteria: Must have a clear criminal record.

Technical Skills: Experience in vehicle servicing and clutch replacement. Ability to perform general vehicle maintenance and repairs. Knowledge of various vehicle makes and models is advantageous.

Key Responsibilities

Perform services and repairs on all company vehicles.

Engage in standby duties, including after-hours and occasional weekend repairs.

Manage and execute services and repairs on company vehicles outside of warranty, in collaboration with the Fleet Manager.

Consult with the Fleet Manager regarding any issues preventing timely repairs or maintenance.

Report significant repairs to the Fleet Manager for approval.

Conduct test drives on all vehicles post-repair or maintenance.

Provide standby repairs and maintenance after hours and over weekends (for designated mechanics) or as per arrangement.
