This role requires an individual with substantial expertise in sourcing and ordering construction materials, particularly someone familiar with the BuildSmart system. Prior experience in storeroom management and procurement within the building sector would be a significant advantage.
Requirements
• Minimum of 3–5 years of relevant experience in procurement or materials management • Comprehensive knowledge of construction materials procurement processes • Experience working with BuildSmart procurement system • Background in storeroom management highly desirable • Superior negotiation and supplier management skills • Exceptional organizational and communication skills • Ability to work independently and meet project deadlines • Availability to work every second Saturday • Immediate availability required • Must reside in Bloemfontein
Responsibilities
• Source and secure competitive prices for building materials • Place and manage orders through the BuildSmart procurement system • Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials • Oversee storeroom operations and monitor stock levels • Ensure adherence to company procurement policies and industry standards • Manage procurement costs and maintain budget control • Provide support to project teams by ensuring timely availability of materials
