National Diploma in Disaster Management or equivalent; Code B Driver’s License. 2-3 years relevant experience; Proficiency in MS Office applications.; Excellent organizational and administrative skills; Excellent analytic and problem-solving ability; High level of integrity, responsibility and confidentiality; Have ability to give attention to detail and be able to work under pressure; Report writing; Communication Skills; Ability to deal with conflict situations; Excellent Negotiation skills.
Identifies with the disaster management strategy with respect to service delivery and, defines, implements and monitors the short-term plans/ objectives; Implements procedures, systems and controls to regulate specific work and associated sequences associated with the Disaster Management functionality; Coordinates and controls the tasks/ activities of personnel and allocates and prioritizes outcomes; Disseminates information on outcomes, current developments, problems and constraints and/ or presents educational material on public safety/ disaster management exercises; co-ordinates specific administrative and reporting requirements associated with the key performance and result indicators of the functionality; There are various unforeseen and unplanned peak periods e.g. during the festive season and storms (acts of nature)
