Dis-Chem Pharmacies Limited seeks a Brand Strategy Lead for their Head Office. This role is responsible for defining the brand strategy, architecture, and governance standards to guarantee consistent brand execution across all marketing touchpoints. The Brand Strategy and Governance Lead will develop brand guidelines and toolkits, lead integrated brand campaigns, and oversee brand compliance to enhance brand equity and customer trust.
Minimum Requirements: Essential qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Brand Management, Communications, or a related Honours degree/ postgraduate qualification. Candidates with 5+ years of experience in brand strategy, brand management, or integrated marketing roles within retail, healthcare, FMCG, or consumer-facing sectors are preferred. Additionally, 2-3 years of experience in coordinating cross-functional marketing initiatives or multidisciplinary project teams is advantageous. Proven success in improving brand consistency and delivering measurable campaign impact is required.
Responsibilities: - Define brand positioning, strategy, and architecture across Dis-Chem brands and visual identity standards. - Translate customer and market insights into brand priorities and messaging frameworks. - Guide brand direction for annual planning and major campaigns. - Develop and maintain brand guidelines, tone of voice, and visual identity standards. - Own brand governance processes, including approvals, reviews, and brand audits. - Ensure consistent application of brand standards across teams and partners. - Define brand campaign platforms, messaging frameworks, and creative direction, with rollout executed by Integrated Marketing and Creative Studio teams. - Ensure creative and messaging consistently reflect brand positioning and customer value proposition. - Monitor execution quality and drive corrective actions to improve consistency. - Provide brand guidance to teams and agencies to ensure consistent, on-brand messaging. - Support core brand narratives and messaging for key business initiatives. - Enable brand adoption through toolkits, templates, and training.
Key Competencies: - Strong expertise in brand strategy, brand architecture, and governance within retail/General Merchandise. - Experience delivering integrated brand campaigns across multiple channels. - Strong understanding of customer insights and shopper behavior. - Ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders and agency partners. - Strong communication skills balancing creative direction with governance discipline.
