Dis-Chem Pharmacies Limited is seeking a highly experienced Cashier for their Willowbridge store. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional customer service at the point of sale, ensuring a top-tier shopping experience for all patrons. Accurate record-keeping of customer transactions on the Dis-Chem operating system is essential, adhering strictly to company policies and standard operating procedures to maintain integrity and mitigate fraud risks.
Essential Requirements: - Grade 12 / Matric qualification - A minimum of 6 months' experience in cashier or till operations - Proficiency in computer use, specifically MS Office - Strong numerical skills - Excellent command of the English language, both written and oral - Basic customer service skills - Ability to work flexible retail hours
Job Description: - Comply with Dis-Chem's customer service policies and procedures - Develop professional relationships with customers - Report customer complaints and compliments to the Frontline Supervisor or store management - Adhere to hourly customer turnover rate - Stay informed about current sales and promotions - Ensure colleagues and customers are not exposed to any risk - Follow Dis-Chem's 5-star communication principles - Manage cash flow diligently - Approve and sign off on all line voids and price changes - Exchange merchandise for customers when authorized to do so - Process all purchases, accepting payments in various forms (cash, bank cards, vouchers, coupons, other forms) - Handle loyalty cards of partner programs (Discovery Health Care, Medihelp Lifestage, Momentum Multiply, Legacy Lifestyle, ABSA Rewards, and eBucks) - Transact all purchases, receiving and processing all payments - Process all loyalty cards including those of our accelerator partners - Ensure cash is safely placed in the drop safe according to Dis-Chem SOPs - Restrict code and password usage to yourself only, ensuring security and regular changes - Scan and pay for all outgoing stock/items/scripts - Maintain strict confidentiality with all outgoing money and discuss only with management - Be vigilant in recognizing and reporting suspicious behavior to management - Address customer queries regarding store merchandise - Adhere to Dis-Chem's security policies and procedures
