Dis-Chem Pharmacies Limited seeks a Merchandiser for their Hemmingways store, located in the Eastern Cape Region. The ideal candidate will uphold basic Dis-Chem merchandising standards and deliver exceptional customer service.


Essential Qualifications: 1. Grade 12 / Matric 2. Up to six months of retail experience 3. Proficiency in computer literacy, specifically MS Office 4. Ability to work flexible retail hours 5. Advantage: At least one year of retail experience


Job Responsibilities: - Restock merchandise to optimize sales potential - Properly store and pack delivered stock and items from the storeroom - Maintain accurate inventory levels, monitoring sell-by dates - Ensure all product categories are displayed without expiration - Implement regular stock rotation following FIFO method - Report low stock, out-of-stock, damaged, or expired items to management - Assist with stock counting and general stocktaking - Adhere to Dis-Chem's operating standards, store layout, and planograms - Keep stock areas tidy and clearly labeled with correct pricing - Report any pricing discrepancies to management - Stay informed on new and current products - Construct and maintain merchandising displays - Perform daily store and merchandise upkeep - Handle designated stock in storeroom and on shop floor - Aid in the loading and unloading of stock - Properly mark items without barcodes - Assist with back shopping - Provide friendly, professional customer service - Follow up on customer out-of-stock queries - Resolve customer stock issues efficiently - Wear appropriate uniform and badge at all times - Handle merchandise with care to minimize loss - Comply with Dis-Chem policies, procedures, and health & safety regulations
