Job Description: The Store Driver will be responsible for the safe and timely transportation of products to customer locations. They must ensure correct product delivery to the correct customer within the specified time frame. The driver must utilize the shortest and most efficient route to and from the store, and return promptly after each delivery to be utilized for subsequent deliveries. Upon completion of each delivery, the vehicle must be repacked to prevent damage to stock or the vehicle. The driver is held accountable for all damages and losses during the delivery process. Special care must be taken when delivering fragile and hazardous products. Compliance with company standards of efficiency and accuracy is mandatory. Delivery/pickup instructions from the manager must be followed. All collections/store returns/inter-branches must be correctly checked, signed for, and returned to the receiving area. Delivery paperwork must be signed upon delivery, and all customer names and addresses must be ensured. Invoices must be accurately recorded on the delivery log sheet and signed appropriately. Discrepancies must be reported to the relevant manager. Vehicle logs must be kept accurate, and payments processed via EFT and cash. The vehicle must never be left unattended during the delivery process. The vehicle must remain clean and washed after each trip. Pre-trip inspections for defects and safe operating conditions must be conducted, and concerns reported to the manager immediately. Any accidents and incidents involving drivers or company equipment must be reported. Adherence to road traffic rules and regulations as per the National Road Traffic Act is mandatory. The driver must be responsible for any traffic fines allocated to the vehicle they drive. Building effective and efficient relationships with internal and external customers is expected to improve operating efficiencies. Establishing long-term customer relationships through prompt and courteous service is expected. Professional behavior when dealing with customers is essential. Reporting customer complaints, compliments, requests to management is required, and feedback should be provided.

Competencies: Essential: Strong command of the English language, Presentable, Effective engagement with customers, management, and staff, Trustworthy and honest, Time management Advantageous: Bilingual, Report bad/suspicious behavior relating to both staff and customers

Special conditions of employment: The driver must be willing and able to work retail hours and/or shifts, work outdoors, and in various weather conditions, and be physically fit to lift and move heavy boxes. Reliable transport and/or residence in close proximity to the store is required. The driver must be a South African citizen with a clear credit and criminal record.
