Dis-Chem Pharmacies is seeking temporary cashiers to form a talent pool for its Kempton Park branches. This initiative aims to create a pre-screened group of individuals who possess the necessary skills and qualifications to be considered for future openings within Dis-Chem Pharmacies.

Purpose of the role: Assist in delivering exceptional customer service at the point of sale, ensuring an outstanding shopping experience for customers. Accurately record transactions on the Dis-Chem operating system in line with company policies and standard operating procedures, with zero tolerance for errors or fraud.

Essential: Grade 12 / Matric A minimum of 6 months’ experience in cashier or till operations Computer literate – MS Office Sound numerical skills Strong command of the English language Basic customer service Willing and able to work retail hours

Job Description: - Follow Dis-Chem’s customer service policies and procedures - Establish professional relationships with customers - Report customer complaints and compliments to the Frontline Supervisor or store management - Adhere to the customer turnover hourly rate - Stay updated on current sales and promotions - Ensure safety and security for colleagues and customers - Implement Dis-Chem 5-star communication principles - Manage cash flow responsibly - Ensure line voids and price changes are approved and signed off by the supervisor - Exchange merchandise and accept returned goods when authorized - Process all payments (cash, bank cards, vouchers, coupons, and other forms of payment) - Process all loyalty cards, including partners like Discovery Health Care, Medihelp Lifestage, Momentum Multiply, Legacy Lifestyle, ABSA Rewards, and eBucks - Place cash in drop safe according to Dis-Chem’s SOPs - Ensure usage of personal code and password is secure and changed regularly - Scan and pay for all outgoing stock/items/scripts - Keep all money safely and securely in the till - Handle daily takings confidentially, and only discuss with management - Be alert and report suspicious behavior to management - Address queries regarding store merchandise - Follow Dis-Chem’s security policies and procedures
