Description

Manage Profitability: Ensure the continuity, growth, and profitability of the Store through meticulous management of costs, maximization of sales turnover, and identification of new business opportunities. Embrace calculated risks and generate innovative ideas to implement new business opportunities and maximize sales. Planning and Budgeting: Collaborate with the Operations Executive and Regional Operations Manager to translate business objectives into an Operating Plan for the Store. Procurement, Stock Control, and Merchandising: Ensure smooth inward logistics, adherence to The Building Company procurement policies, maintain optimal stock levels, and control stock losses. Maintain Stock variances: Maintain optimal stock levels. Financial Management: Ensure the store budget aligns with and adheres to the agreed-upon operating plans. Monitor and control all financial processes in line with best practices and company procedures. Customer Service: Address and resolve customer complaints effectively. Coordinate promotions, advertising, and public relations for the store to enhance the Brand's market share in line with company procedures. Accountable for Day-to-Day Operations: Oversee day-to-day operations, administration, customer sales and service, and overall management and control of the branch employees. Operational Analysis: Analyze operational data to diagnose problems or identify success areas in the business. Enhance successes and address problem areas with the Operations Management Support Team. People Management: Inspire, motivate, guide, develop, and manage employees to meet store objectives. Apply company policies and procedures and best practices to foster a harmonious work environment. Legislative Compliance and Corporate Governance: Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation concerning business operations and take appropriate action on all legal matters. Requirements

Grade 12

Preferably a commerce bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

Preferably a Financial or Management diploma

5-10 years of retail experience

Minimum of 3 years in a junior-mid level management position

Previous industry-related experience

Financial acumen

Skills in inwards and outwards logistics/procurement

Merchandising principles

Preferably knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act
