This role is for a seasoned professional with 3 - 5+ years of industrial automation experience to join the engineering team in Pretoria.
Role Overview
The primary responsibility of this position involves designing, developing, and testing control systems tailored to client-specific requirements.
Requirements
- Degree, Technical Diploma, or NQF Equivalent in Electrical, Electronic, or Mechatronic Engineering - 5+ years of relevant industrial automation experience - Practical experience in Control System Design, Development, FAT Testing, and Commissioning - Intermediate to advanced understanding of PLC programming with practical experience in two of the following automation platforms: Siemens, Schneider, Allan Bradley, Omron, Beckhoff, Mitsubishi - Intermediate to advanced understanding of SCADA development with practical experience in two of the following supervisory platforms: Wonderware, Siemens, Schneider, Allan Bradley, Adroit - Intermediate to advanced understanding of relational databases and report generation with practical experience in Microsoft SQL and Microsoft Reporting Services - Advantageous experience in Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), Building Management Systems (BES), and Environmental Management Systems (EMS) - Advantageous exposure to the FMCG, Food and Beverage, and Milling industries
Duties Include But Are Not Limited to
- Designing cost-effective solutions to meet customer needs - Preparing functional and detailed designs for client approval and effective development - Architecting software implementation systems - Designing industrial communication networks for software implementations (ethernet, fiber, Profinet, etc.) - Developing, testing, and implementing PLC programs according to client specifications and ensuring optimal functioning - Developing, testing, and implementing SCADA and/or HMI applications according to client specifications and ensuring optimal functioning - Creating simulation applications for testing and training purposes - Ensuring the complete functionality of the designed solution through rigorous testing - Providing post-project system support as required - Supporting clients for Callouts and Service Level Agreements (SLA) - Offering training and assistance to clients to ensure system usage within design constraints
