**Key Responsibilities**

• Develop and evaluate the design of structures, conveyors, and related equipment using 2D and 3D CAD software (SolidWorks, DraftSight, AutoCAD, Ansys, Rocky). - Offer technical support to the sales team to ensure that bid proposals are technically sound and commercially feasible. - Oversee major and minor engineering projects, from initial estimation and tender submission to contract negotiation and design completion. - Research the feasibility, design, operation, and performance of mechanical systems. - Investigate mechanical failures and maintenance issues at mine sites in South Africa and across Africa. - Create fabrication drawings and bills of materials (BOMs) based on sketches, existing drawings, and client briefs. - Plan, schedule, coordinate, monitor, and control the costs of assigned projects. - Engage and negotiate with sub-vendors throughout the project lifecycle. - Ensure compliance with codes, QA/QC policies, standards, and specifications. - Liaise with clients to interpret their specifications and requirements.

**Minimum Requirements**

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. - Mandatory PrEng registration. - Demonstrated experience in a project-oriented environment. - Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks 3D CAD and AutoCAD (essential), including SolidWorks File and Data Management. - Experience with Ansys (FEA) and Rocky (DEM). - Experience in conveyor design (typically 0–200m) and knowledge of conveyor design codes. - Background in mining and materials handling (run-of-mine crushing, sizing, screening) is highly desirable. - Preferred structural engineering background. - Familiarity with manufacturing methods and design for manufacturability and assembly. - Strong skills in analogous and parametric cost estimating. - Proficient technical report writing and presentation skills. - Competent in MS Office. - Clean criminal record. - Valid driver’s license with a clean abstract. - Willingness to travel.
