An exceptional opportunity has emerged for a seasoned Draughtsman to join our client's esteemed engineering and construction team in Cape Town. This role is ideal for a technically proficient Draughtsman with a background in Electrical systems, although Architectural Draughtsmen with an interest in building services may also be considered.
Key Responsibilities: - Draft, develop, and refine comprehensive technical drawings for both electrical and mechanical building services. - Produce precise drawings for electrical installations, HVAC systems, and wet services. - Interpret engineering designs, project specifications, calculations, and requirements. - Create accurate 2D and 3D drawings adhering to project standards and specifications. - Collaborate with engineers and project teams on the development and coordination of building services drawings. - Review and amend drawings based on feedback from engineers and consultants. - Ensure all drawings are accurate, coordinated, and issued per project requirements. - Coordinate among electrical, mechanical, architectural, and other building services disciplines as necessary. - Assist with the creation of as-built drawings, drawing revisions, and project documentation. - Maintain drawing registers and ensure all documentation is properly updated and controlled. - Communicate with engineers, architects, consultants, contractors, and other stakeholders regarding drawing requirements. - Identify potential clashes or coordination issues and assist in resolving them during the design process. - Work in compliance with relevant industry standards, project specifications, and company procedures. - Contribute to Revit/BIM modelling and multidisciplinary coordination where applicable.
Requirements: - Relevant Draughting qualification, National Certificate, Diploma, or equivalent technical qualification. - Minimum 3ā5 years of experience in a draughting environment. - Experience in Electrical Draughting is highly advantageous. - Exposure to building services, MEP, electrical, mechanical, HVAC, or wet services projects is advantageous. - Proficiency in AutoCAD. - Experience with Revit is a significant advantage. - Familiarity with BIM and multidisciplinary coordination is beneficial. - Ability to interpret technical drawings, engineering layouts, specifications, and design information. - Capability to manage multiple drawings and project deliverables within deadlines.
