IVANPLATS (Pty) Ltd, a subsidiary of Ivanhoe Mines, is enhancing the advancement of its top-tier palladium-rhodium-nickel-copper-gold project in Limpopo Province near Mokopane. Utilizing advanced mechanized underground mining techniques and state-of-the-art technology, this project aims to establish a modern mining operation. We are seeking suitably qualified and experienced professionals to fill the following roles essential for project development.
Minimum Qualifications and Skills Required: - Grade 12 or Diploma/Btech in Mining Engineering (advantageous) - Valid blasting certificate - Mine Overseers Certificate of Competency - Valid Driverās License
Work Experience Required: - Minimum 5 years of experience as a Mine Supervisor in the mining sector - In-depth understanding of mining operations and production processes - Outstanding leadership and team management capabilities - Extensive background in trackless massive mining development - Experience within a project-based setting - Thorough knowledge of South African mining regulations and safety standards - Exceptional leadership, planning, communication, and decision-making skills - Ability to operate under pressure and meet production objectives - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills - Proficiency in computer applications (Microsoft Office and mining reporting systems)
Responsibilities: - Oversee and direct underground mining production activities, ensuring safety and production goals are met - Ensure adherence to the Mine Health and Safety Act, Minerals Act, and company policies - Lead, mentor, and develop production supervisors and underground teams - Monitor production performance and drive continuous improvement initiatives - Conduct workplace inspections, risk assessments, and accident investigations - Ensure efficient planning, resource allocation, and equipment utilization - Maintain high standards of safety, housekeeping, and environmental compliance - Collaborate with engineering, geology, survey, and other departments to optimize production
