Position: Process Technician – Paarl/CPT Market Related Salary

An established manufacturing firm is now seeking a skilled Process Technician to uphold and enhance its process control and instrumentation systems. This hands-on position provides a valuable chance to bolster plant reliability, support automation initiatives, and drive ongoing improvements.

Key Responsibilities: - Guarantee the optimal operation of control and instrumentation devices across the manufacturing site. - Manage calibration records for process scales and weighbridges. - Calibrate and supervise the correct functioning of electronic flowmeters and process scales, as well as weighbridges. - Ensure the proper calibration and management of electronic flowmeters. - Develop and revise process control diagrams for maintenance and project work utilizing Microsoft Visio. - Plan modifications and alterations to Beckhoff I/O lists. - Submit updated I/O information to the relevant system integrator. - Assist electricians in troubleshooting automation issues, including after-hours standby support as needed. - Engage in the company's continuous improvement program. - Complete related technical and administrative tasks with precision.

Minimum Requirements: - Diploma or BTech degree in Electrical Engineering with a focus on Industrial Control Systems. - At least five years of post-qualification experience within a factory, plant, or similar manufacturing setting. - Practical experience in industrial instrumentation and process control systems. - Experience with electronic weighing systems and PLCs. - Familiarity with variable-speed drives and soft starters is advantageous. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office. - Experience creating or updating technical drawings using Microsoft Visio. - Strong communication and interpersonal skills. - Self-motivated with the ability to work independently. - Excellent attention to detail. - A balanced approach to both hands-on plant work and technical administration. - Valid driver’s licence. - Preferably residing in Paarl or the surrounding area.
