Job Description

Recruitpro Solutions, a prominent player in designing and producing advanced mineral processing equipment, is looking for a Production Coordinator. This position focuses exclusively on workshop operations and scheduling, ensuring efficient execution of new machine builds, spare parts fabrication, and equipment repairs.

Position Overview

The Production Coordinator will manage the scheduling of all workshop activities. This entails meticulous planning of production timelines, continuous tracking of daily progress, and proactive measures to enhance operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive workshop schedules using Microsoft Project for all concurrent tasks, including new equipment construction, spare parts manufacturing, and repair jobs. - Optimize workflow distribution across various fabrication and assembly lines. - Determine the critical path for complex assembly and refurbishment projects to foresee and mitigate potential bottlenecks. - Monitor daily jobs and compare work-in-progress (WIP) levels with scheduled timelines. - Predict realistic completion dates based on actual workshop performance and machine availability. - Identify schedule delays promptly and preemptively communicate potential issues. - Adjust schedules based on input from the Commercial Department regarding lead times, orders, and delivery expectations.

Minimum Requirements

• Matric / NQF Level 4, with Mathematics and Science being advantageous. - National Diploma or Higher Certificate is advantageous. - A minimum of five years of planning or scheduling experience within the heavy fabrication sector. - Prior exposure to the mining machinery sector is highly desirable. - Essential proficiency in Microsoft Project. - Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and MS Word. - Capability to read and interpret fabrication, machining, and assembly blueprints. - Ability to sequence sub-assemblies based on a master assembly bill of materials (BOM). - Strong logical reasoning and aptitude for calculating and sequencing timeframes. - Assertive communication skills with the ability to quickly re-prioritize tasks.
