Suitable candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications and skills

Bachelor’s degree, BTech, BEng or BSc in Extractive Metallurgy, Metallurgical Engineering, Chemical Engineering (Mineral Processing) or a recognised equivalent qualification. Management Development Programme, postgraduate management qualification or equivalent formal leadership development. Proven involvement in concentrator commissioning, ramp-up, stabilization and optimization, with evidence of sustained improvement in throughput, recovery, quality, availability or cost

Suitable candidates must have the following work experience

Minimum 10 years of relevant mineral-processing or concentrator operations experience, including at least 5 years in a Senior Metallurgist, production superintendent, production manager, plant manager or equivalent senior operational leadership role. Experience commissioning or operating a large-scale greenfield or brownfield concentrator and transferring it from project to steady-state operations. Previous experience holding a Regulation 2.6.1 or comparable legal appointment at a mine or works. Experience with advanced process-control systems, plant historians, data analytics, and structured continuous-improvement methods. Experience in operational-readiness planning, workforce ramp-up, training-system development and large-project commissioning governance. Experience in PGM concentrator experience, particularly Platreef, UG2 or similarly complex sulphide flotation operations. Demonstrated experience leading a 24-hour mineral-processing operation and managing shift-based production teams.

The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not be limited to:

Lead production execution across the assigned concentrator process areas, including crushing, milling and classification, flotation, reagent systems, concentrate handling, tailings thickening and dewatering, process-water systems and associated operational interfaces. Operate within a commissioning and ramp-up environment in which operating standards, control limits, staffing capability, maintenance routines and metallurgical performance systems are still being embedded. Provide the direct operational link between metallurgy, production, maintenance, engineering, technical services, the laboratory, the projects and commissioning teams, contractors, vendors and shift-based operating personnel. Lead a 24-hour production function and ensure effective shift handovers, escalation, response to abnormal conditions and continuity of decision-making across all shifts. Prepare the Phase 1 production organisation and operating systems for long-term steady-state performance while developing standards and lessons that can be transferred to the larger Phase 2 operation.
