Our client, a well-established quantity surveying firm in Gauteng specializing in commercial and retail projects, is seeking an accomplished Professional Quantity Surveyor (PQS) or Quantity Surveyor nearing professional registration. This is an ideal position for a highly skilled QS with a strong background in professional quantity surveying consultancy who aims to lead commercial and retail projects within a collaborative, office-based setting.
Requirements: · Professional registration as a PQS, or actively pursuing professional registration · Education: BSc/ BSc Hons in Quantity Surveying or a related qualification · Proven experience in a professional quantity surveying consultancy · Substantial experience in commercial and/or retail projects · Proficiency in WinQS and DimX is mandatory · Thorough knowledge of quantity surveying principles, measurement, and cost management · Excellent attention to detail and numerical proficiency · Ability to manage multiple projects and adhere to deadlines · Willingness to work full-time from the company's offices
Responsibilities: · Oversee quantity surveying functions for commercial and retail projects · Prepare and review cost estimates, budgets, and tender documentation · Conduct measurements and prepare bills of quantities · Evaluate tenders and assist with contractor appointments · Manage valuations, payment certificates, variations, and final accounts · Monitor project costs and provide precise financial reporting · Liaise with clients, contractors, consultants, and other project stakeholders · Offer professional quantity surveying advice throughout the project lifecycle · Assist with project management and cost-control requirements · Ensure all QS documentation and reporting are accurate and of high standard
