An exceptional opportunity awaits a seasoned Structural Engineer to integrate into our client’s renowned engineering consultancy team in Hilton, KwaZulu-Natal Midlands. This position presents the chance to engage with a variety of structural engineering projects within a dynamic consulting setting, encompassing the analysis, design, and execution of diverse technical endeavors.
Key Responsibilities: • Design reinforced concrete, prestressed concrete, and structural steel structures. • Develop designs for bridges, culverts, retaining structures, and buildings. • Prepare and scrutinize structural calculations, technical reports, specifications, and drawings. • Conduct structural inspections, condition assessments, and rehabilitation projects. • Deliver technical support during construction and oversee construction monitoring. • Maintain communication with clients, contractors, consultants, and cross-functional project teams. • Aid in project management, proposal development, and tender submissions. • Offer technical guidance, mentorship, and support to junior engineers and technical staff. • Ensure project deliverables meet required quality standards and comply with relevant SANS, TMH, and structural design codes. • Participate in BIM and digital engineering workflows. • Assist with contract administration and project delivery requirements. • Manage project deliverables and ensure timely completion within specified deadlines.
Requirements: • BEng, BSc, or BTech in Civil Engineering. • Registration as Pr Eng or Pr Tech Eng with ECSA. • A Master's degree in Structural Engineering or a related field is preferred. • Experience in a consulting engineering environment. • Extensive experience in reinforced concrete and structural steel design. • Familiarity with bridge and transportation structures. • Proficiency in prestressed concrete design. • Experience with structural inspections, assessments, and rehabilitation. • Knowledge of relevant SANS, TMH, and structural design standards and codes. • Experience with construction monitoring and contract administration. • Exposure to BIM and digital engineering workflows. • Project management experience is advantageous.
Technical Skills: • Proficiency in Revit. • Proficiency in AutoCAD. • Proficiency in Prokon. • Experience with Autodesk Robot Structural Analysis. • MIDAS Civil is advantageous. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office / MS Software. • Strong capabilities in structural analysis and design.
