An intriguing position awaits a seasoned Structural Engineer to join our client's prominent engineering consultancy team in Hilton, KwaZulu-Natal Midlands. This role provides the chance to engage with diverse structural engineering projects within a multidisciplinary consulting framework, encompassing the analysis, design, and execution of a variety of technical projects.
Key Responsibilities: - Conceptualize and execute reinforced concrete, prestressed concrete, and structural steel structures. - Design bridges, culverts, retaining walls, and buildings. - Draft and scrutinize structural calculations, technical reports, specifications, and blueprints. - Conduct structural inspections, assessments, and rehabilitation efforts. - Offer technical support during construction and assist with monitoring the building process. - Collaborate with clients, contractors, consultants, and multidisciplinary project teams. - Aid in project management, proposal development, and tender submissions. - Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and support to junior engineers and technical staff. - Ensure projects meet quality standards and comply with SANS, TMH, and structural design codes. - Participate in BIM and digital engineering workflows. - Support contract administration and project delivery requirements. - Oversee project deliverables and ensure timely completion within specified deadlines and standards.
Requirements: - Bachelorās degree (BEng, BSc, or BTech) in Civil Engineering. - Registration as a Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) or Professional Technologist (Pr Tech Eng) with ECSA. - A Master's degree in Structural Engineering or a related field is beneficial. - Prior experience in a consulting engineering setting. - Extensive experience in reinforced concrete and structural steel design. - Experience with bridge and transportation infrastructure design. - Proficiency in prestressed concrete design. - Experience in structural inspections, assessments, and rehabilitation. - Familiarity with relevant SANS, TMH, and structural design standards and codes. - Experience in construction monitoring and contract administration. - Exposure to BIM and digital engineering workflows. - Project management experience is advantageous.
Technical Skills: - Proficient in Revit. - Proficient in AutoCAD. - Proficient in Prokon. - Experienced with Autodesk Robot Structural Analysis. - Familiarity with MIDAS Civil is advantageous. - Proficient in Microsoft Office / MS Software. - Strong capabilities in structural analysis and design.
