**Position: Mechanical Apprentice (George) – 2 Vacancies**

**Objective:** To provide hands-on training in mechanical engineering, focusing on maintenance, repairs, and servicing of production machinery and equipment.

**Key Responsibilities:**

**Mechanical Maintenance and Repairs:** - Assist qualified artisans in routine preventative maintenance and servicing of production machinery and equipment. - Support inspection, fault-finding, repair, and replacement of mechanical components. - Learn to identify mechanical faults and promptly report equipment abnormalities to supervisors. - Aid in dismantling, cleaning, repairing, assembling, and installing mechanical components. - Gain practical experience in working with bearings, shafts, gears, belts, chains, pulleys, pumps, motors, and pneumatic systems. - Help with machinery adjustments and alignment under supervision.

**Production and Equipment Support:** - Assist in maintaining production machinery used in food-packaging operations. - Support maintenance teams during equipment breakdowns and scheduled maintenance activities. - Minimize machinery downtime by adhering to maintenance instructions and promptly reporting faults. - Ensure tools, equipment, and work areas are clean, organized, and in good condition.

**Health, Safety, and Housekeeping:** - Comply with all company health and safety policies, procedures, and applicable legal requirements. - Always wear required personal protective equipment (PPE). - Follow machine isolation and lockout procedures as instructed by authorized personnel. - Maintain good housekeeping in workshop and production areas. - Follow applicable hygiene and food-safety requirements when working in production areas.

**Qualifications:** - Preferred: Grade 12, although not essential - Fluent in English and Afrikaans - Technical N1/N2 or N3 in a technical field - Driver’s License
