Motus Corporation's Menlyn multifranchise has an opening for a Level 1 Automotive Technician Apprentice.
Reporting to the Service Manager, this role is ideal for individuals with a strong interest in motor vehicle repair who aim to develop their skills as Motor Mechanic Technicians through a comprehensive three-year Apprenticeship Training Programme.
Responsibilities include
ā¢ Providing support in vehicle repair tasks under the guidance of a certified Technician ā¢ Disassembling and reinstalling vehicle parts and units ā¢ Using jacks and trestles to elevate vehicles ā¢ Lubricating and changing oils, following manual specifications (with supervision) ā¢ Installing and removing wheels ā¢ Fitting and replacing air and oil filters ā¢ Assisting with all vehicle repair activities ā¢ Handling battery installation and removal ā¢ Engaging in prescribed technical and level courses ā¢ Performing any other reasonable duties as required ā¢ Maintaining cleanliness in tools, equipment, overalls, and the work area ā¢ Adhering to safety protocols
Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications:
ā¢ A Grade 12 certificate with Pure Mathematics and Physical Science is mandatory ā¢ Preference for candidates with a Technical Matric ā¢ A valid Driverās License is advantageous ā¢ A clean Criminal Record is required ā¢ Technical skills are a plus ā¢ Excellent customer service orientation and teamwork capabilities are essential
