Our client, engaged in a significant road upgrading project within the West Coast District Municipality, is in search of an adept Construction Site Surveyor. This full-time, on-site position spans around 18 months and is ideal for a surveying expert with robust experience in road construction and civil infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Establish and manage construction survey controls. - Conduct ground line, verification, and construction surveys. - Set out and verify roadworks, drainage, and related infrastructure. - Interpret contract drawings and construction designs. - Verify layer works, volumes, batter slopes, and setting-out information. - Develop and maintain Digital Terrain Models (DTMs). - Perform volumetric calculations and quantity verification surveys. - Import, analyze, and validate survey and design data using appropriate software. - Prepare survey records, verification reports, and as-built information. - Verify road reserve fence positions as required. - Collaborate closely with the Resident Engineer, Contractor, and Employer’s Representative. - Provide mentoring and skills transfer to junior personnel when needed.

Requirements

• Registration with the South African Geomatics Council (SAGC) as a Professional Engineering Surveyor, Engineering Surveyor (Technologist) or Engineering Survey Technician. - National Diploma, Advanced Diploma, Degree, or equivalent in Engineering Surveying, Geomatics, Surveying, or a related discipline. - Minimum of 5 years of engineering and construction surveying experience. - Proven experience in road construction, road rehabilitation, or similar civil infrastructure projects. - Experience with roadworks, earthworks, drainage, and construction setting-out. - Familiarity with quantity verification, volumetric calculations, and as-built surveying. - Proficiency with GNSS/GPS, total stations, digital levels, and survey software. - Valid South African driver’s licence. - Ability to work full-time on site throughout the project duration. - Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and adherence to quality standards.
