The Electrical department within Facilities and Infrastructure is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Electrical Artisan Assistant (Grade 6).

Main Objectives: - To ensure maintenance of all lighting and heating systems. - To assist Electricians in various tasks such as construction work, wiring, and the repair and maintenance of all electrical installations and appliances across the University campus.

Requirements: - N2 (NQF level 3) qualification with approximately three years of relevant experience, including: - Previous experience in lighting repair work. - General experience in electrical repair work and familiarity with electrical instrumentation. - Ability to work from heights using ladders, scaffolding, and aerial platforms. Height phobia is a disqualifying factor. - Must hold a valid driver’s license for light motor vehicles. If a candidate does not have a license, they must be prepared to obtain one within the probation period. The institution will cover the cost of the first attempt at obtaining a license. Failure to secure a valid license within the probation period may result in the appointment not being confirmed.
