An established engineering organization is looking for a seasoned Senior Engineer / Technical Director to offer leadership in water resilience, water infrastructure, and related engineering fields. The ideal candidate will manage project execution, uphold quality standards, guide junior engineers, handle client relations, and help drive business expansion.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead projects within water infrastructure, wet services, and associated engineering domains from start to finish. • Review designs, technical reports, calculations, and drawings to ensure quality and compliance. • Develop technical standards, quality assurance processes, and design review methodologies. • Guide junior and mid-level engineers to achieve ECSA registration. • Oversee project scope, budgets, fees, risks, and deliverables. • Foster client relationships and contribute to proposal development, business growth, and practice enhancement. • Create specialized services in water resilience, treatment, groundwater, wastewater reuse, and smart water monitoring. • Assist in the strategic growth of the engineering practice.
Minimum Requirements
• A BSc/BEng in Civil or Mechanical Engineering. • ECSA Pr Eng registration or imminent registration with a verifiable application. • Extensive experience in water engineering, wet services, or infrastructure project management. • Strong technical design, quality assurance, and project management skills. • Demonstrated capabilities in mentoring, client management, and commercial operations. • A valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Advantageous Experience
• Systems related to groundwater, water treatment, fire water, and wastewater reuse. • Familiarity with SANS 10252 and SANS 10400 standards. • Proficiency in Revit, Civil 3D, and multidisciplinary engineering consulting. • Experience with JBCC, NEC, or FIDIC contract administration. • Involvement in commissioning, claims, variations, and live-site retrofit projects. • Expertise in sustainable water management, ESG, ISO 46001, or green building standards.
