Position: Embedded Systems Engineer
Description: This role involves designing and developing embedded systems, guiding embedded products from initial concept to full-scale production, including hardware setup, certification, and field deployment.
Education: · Completed BEng or BSc (Eng) in Electronic, Computer, or Electrical Engineering from a recognized South African or international tertiary institution. · South African qualifications must be ECSA-accredited. · International qualifications must be from an institution whose engineering programs are Washington Accord accredited or equivalent. · Foreign qualifications require a SAQA evaluation.
Experience: · 6–8 years' post-graduate experience in embedded systems design and development. · At least 3 years in a senior, lead, or architecture capacity. · Demonstrable involvement in bringing at least two embedded products from concept to volume production. · Currently hands-on in embedded C or C++. · Not suitable for candidates who have fully transitioned into management or specification-only roles.
Key Requirements: · Hands-on capability in Embedded C or C++. · Experience in embedded systems design and development. · Experience in taking at least two embedded products from concept to volume production. · Experience in hardware bring-up, certification, and field deployment. · Senior, lead, or architecture experience. · South African citizenship required; foreign nationals will not be accepted. · Valid driver's license. · Clear criminal and credit record; verification required. · Willingness to travel occasionally for vehicle testing, supplier, and certification engagements. · Preference for Employment Equity (EE) candidates. · Candidates will undergo a screening call prior to interview. · Resumes will be forwarded exclusively to the recruiter, with no direct communication with the hiring manager.
