Our client, a leading manufacturer of industrial and utility boilers, is seeking an experienced Electrical & Electronic Engineer to join their Package Boiler business unit in Bellville. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, specification, testing, commissioning, and optimisation of electrical, instrumentation, and control systems for steam and hot water boiler installations.
Minimum RequirementsQualificationsBachelor's Degree in Electrical or Electronic EngineeringProfessional registration with ECSA, or in the process of registering, advantageousExperienceMinimum 5 years' experience within an industrial control environmentMinimum 3 years' PLC and DCS programming experienceMinimum 3 years' control loop tuning experienceExperience with Siemens SIMATIC STEP 7 Professional and Schneider Unity Pro software preferredKey Skills & KnowledgeStrong understanding of Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation, and Automatic Control SystemsSound knowledge of Thermodynamics and Fluid MechanicsUnderstanding of national and international electrical standards and regulationsProficiency in Microsoft Excel and WordExposure to AutoCAD Electrical and EPlanStrong communication and customer interaction skillsKey ResponsibilitiesDesign and commission boiler control, instrumentation, and electrical systemsDevelop PLC programs, control philosophies, and instrumentation specificationsPrepare instrument lists, I/O schedules, loop drawings, routing diagrams, hook-ups, and calibration documentationDesign motor control centres, cable schedules, electrical wiring drawings, and equipment specificationsAssist with estimating and preparing proposals for boiler projectsPerform cold and hot commissioning of boilers, burners, pumps, fans, drives, and associated equipmentConduct fault-finding, troubleshooting, and optimisation of control systemsCreate and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) within the MRP systemEnsure all designs and installations comply with relevant national and international standards
