Status Staffing is currently seeking a skilled Machine Builder / Assembler for a permanent position in Bellville, Cape Town. Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a factory or manufacturing environment, along with proven expertise in machine building or mechanical assembly. Applicants must possess at least an N4 Mechanical qualification, be a certified Fitter/Millwright Artisan, hold a Forklift License, and demonstrate basic MIG/TIG welding skills. REQUIREMENTS: - Minimum 5 years' experience in a factory, manufacturing, or industrial setting. - Previous experience as a Machine Builder, Mechanical Assembler, Fitter, or similar role. - Minimum N4 Mechanical qualification. - Qualified Fitter/Millwright Artisan (preferred/required). - Forklift Driving License. - Basic MIG/TIG welding experience. - Safety qualification or training (NOSA) is advantageous. - Strong knowledge of mechanical assembly and machine-building processes. - Ability to safely and effectively use electrical, mechanical, and standard hand tools. - Accurate use of measuring equipment such as verniers, angle protractors, squares, spirit levels, and tape measures. - Good knowledge of mechanical components, fasteners, sheet metal, and structural materials. - Physically fit and capable of working at heights, climbing ladders, stairs, and pedestals as required. - Safety-conscious with a solid understanding of safe working practices. - Must own reliable transport and be able to travel to and from work, including for overtime. - Ability to work independently and effectively within a team.

DUTIES: - Assemble and fit gearboxes, pulleys, sprockets, chains, conveyors, rollers, and bearing components. - Work with various types of sheet metal and structural materials including mild steel, stainless steel, aluminum, angle iron, tubing, flat bar, channels, and sectional materials. - Use electrical and mechanical hand tools, including drills, grinders, tapping machines, spanners, and other standard tools. - Utilize precision and general measuring equipment, including verniers, angle protractors, squares, spirit levels, and tape measures. - Work with various fasteners including bolts, nuts, screws, rivets, and rivnuts. - Perform tapping and die-cutting of threads. - Carry out basic MIG/TIG welding where required. - Work effectively as part of a team in a factory/manufacturing environment. - Follow all workplace health and safety procedures and maintain a safety-conscious approach at all times. - Work at heights, including climbing ladders, stairs, and pedestals as required. - Operate a forklift where required and within the scope of the relevant license.
