Blackheath, Kuils River | Regular client visits (Cape Town)Our client, a specialist supplier of electronic components to the engineering and manufacturing sector, is recruiting a Senior Sales Engineer to manage and grow Key Accounts within large tech and electrical engineering companies. This is a relationship-driven, consultative role focused on retention, expansion, and technical support (not a heavy new business role).
Duties Include Own a portfolio of strategic/key accounts and build trusted relationships across engineering and procurementSupport engineers with component selection, BOM support, alternates/replacements, and lifecycle/obsolescence solutionsDrive account growth through penetration, cross-selling, and identifying cost-down/supply continuity opportunitiesManage accurate forecasting, pipeline visibility, and CRM/adminCoordinate with internal sourcing/product teams to ensure best-fit solutions, pricing, and reliable supplyProvide regular reporting on account performance, risks, competitor activity, and opportunitiesRequirements Degree/Diploma (Electrical/Electronic Engineering preferred)5+ years Sales Engineering / Technical Sales (electronic components advantageous)Proven experience managing large/complex key accountsStrong commercial awareness and negotiation abilityMS Office (Excel essential); CRM experience advantageousBilingual (Afrikaans & English), presentableValid driver’s licence + willingness to travel locally
