Position Overview
Status Staffing is looking for a skilled Showroom Sales Consultant to join their upscale furniture and interiors team in Paarl, Cape Town. This role is ideal for a dynamic, client-oriented sales professional with a passion for luxury furniture, interior design, and high-end aesthetics. The successful candidate should possess 2â4 years of sales experience in premium furniture, home dĂŠcor, finishes, or luxury interior retail, along with a solid understanding of interior design principles, textiles, and custom upholstery. Familiarity with Cape Townâs interior design and trade procurement sector is a significant advantage.
Requirements
- 2â4 years of documented sales experience in high-end furniture, home dĂŠcor, or luxury interior retail. - Comprehensive knowledge of interior design, spatial planning, textiles, timbers, and custom upholstery. - Proficiency in utilizing retail ERP/POS systems (e.g., OMNI) and familiarity with email correspondence and basic Excel or Google Sheets. - Fluent in English; proficiency in Afrikaans is advantageous. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills. - Strong interpersonal skills, active listening, time management, and organizational abilities. - Proven ability to meet or exceed monthly personal sales targets and maintain a high conversion rate from quotes to closed sales. - Demonstrated capability in onboarding trade clients and generating repeat sales. - Exceptional administrative accuracy with zero errors in customer orders, specifications, and payments.
Duties
Sales Generation & Consultative Selling
- Achieve and surpass monthly sales targets for both retail and trade clients. - Provide tailored design consultations, aiding with spatial layout planning, fabric selection, timber finishes, and customized furniture specifications. - Follow up systematically on open quotes, customer inquiries, and pending trade projects to enhance sales conversion.
Trade & Decorator Client Relations
- Develop and maintain relationships with interior designers, decorators, architects, and hospitality buyers in the Paarden Eiland design hub. - Process trade applications, issue project quotes, order fabric swatches, and manage lead times for industry professionals. - Keep an updated client database for regular outreach about new collections and trade offers.
Showroom Operations & Floor Standards
- Maintain showroom cleanliness, ensuring styled vignettes, price tags, and fabric samples are pristine. - Accurately process quotes, sales orders, lay-bys, and payments via retail POS/ERP systems (e.g., OMNI). - Coordinate with logistics, manufacturing, and warehouse teams to provide customers with accurate lead times and delivery updates.
