We are looking for a dedicated Vending Assistant to join our team. The Vending Assistant will support the Cooks and Chefs in food preparation tasks, manage the cash register, serve food, and maintain cleanliness in the canteen and kitchen.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide assistance in meal preparation, especially for salads and desserts - Place entrees on the servery within designated time frames - Ensure the servery is well-stocked and kept clean - Store and record food leftovers appropriately - Count and sign over stock in the designated area to the next shift, where applicable - Keep restaurant tables, kitchen, and other areas clean and orderly - Ensure compliance with Company and Statutory cleanliness and hygiene standards - Provide food samples as requested or required by the business - Deliver a high level of customer service within the area of responsibility - Report customer complaints and take appropriate actions when necessary

- Ability to communicate effectively with kitchen staff, clients, and colleagues - Flexibility regarding working hours - Strong interpersonal skills for client/customer interaction - Trustworthy and reliable - Attention to detail - Motivated and enjoys practical, methodical work - Good hand-eye coordination - Good personal hygiene - Excellent communication skills - Ability to work well as part of a team
Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year in a similar position - Fine dining upmarket restaurant experience is advantageous - Matric - Culinary Qualification is advantageous
