Position Overview

Faircape Restaurant and Catering, a division of Faircape Life retirement villages, operates six prime locations throughout the Western Cape. Our services cater to residents and patients in the onsite healthcare facilities within our retirement villages.

We are currently looking for an Interim Server (Maternity Substitute) for our facility, Bridgewater Manor, located in Somerset West.

Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will be tasked with ensuring guests and residents receive top-tier service with professionalism, efficiency, and courtesy. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Changing table linens as needed and exchanging dirty or damaged items with clean, usable ones. - Cleaning and refilling cruet and condiment sets. - Setting tables to meet the highest standards, ensuring cleanliness and undamaged items. - Maintaining designated areas to uphold required hygiene standards. - Having comprehensive knowledge of all menu items to confidently recommend or explain options to residents. - Serving food and beverages in accordance with established standards while maintaining a professional demeanor. - Practicing excellent customer relations at all times, accommodating resident needs without inconvenience to other guests. - Handling customer complaints effectively and reporting them to the manager. - Assisting with daily, weekly, and monthly stock audits, reporting any variances or breakages to your manager. - Restocking and replenishing bar inventory and supplies. - Ensuring accurate billing of orders and reporting any errors to the manager. - Maintaining high standards of personal hygiene and grooming. - Being willing to assist outside of normal working hours for private events as required.

Experience and Skills

Proven experience as a server - Barista experience is advantageous. - Knowledge of serving etiquette and basic wine knowledge is preferred.

Compensation

We offer a competitive salary, dependent on qualifications, experience, and other market-related factors. Your total salary will include Sundays, remunerated at time and a half, and public holidays, at double the rate.

Working Hours

You will be required to work 16.25 shifts per month. Normal working days are from Monday to Sunday, 07h00 to 19h00, according to the roster.
