Dis-Chem Pharmacies is seeking an experienced Clinic Staff Nurse for their Gateway store. This role will entail supporting the Clinic Nurse Practitioner in the daily operations of the Primary Health Care Clinic located within the pharmacy.


Minimum Requirements: Grade 12 / Matric Diploma in Nursing Registered with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) 2 – 5 years of experience as a Primary Health Care Clinic Sister Proficiency in MS Office Strong numerical skills Fluency in English and another language Willingness to work retail hours


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Nurse Practitioner to communicate effectively with patients. - Maintain clear communication channels with the Nursing practitioner regarding clinic operations. - Record patient details accurately in the electronic system. - Ensure all communications, both electronic and verbal, are followed up with the Nursing practitioner. - Assist the Nurse Practitioner in ensuring clinic operations align with the operational agreement. - Complete daily checklists. - Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the clinic’s standard operating procedures. - Adhere to the clinic's dress code while on duty. - Ensure clinic stock and equipment meet Dis-Chem’s standards and operational requirements. - Verify that clinic stock is not expired before use. - Dispose of expired stock in line with Dis-Chem’s policies and procedures. - Assist the Nurse Practitioner in maintaining adequate clinic stock levels. - Provide excellent customer service in adherence to Dis-Chem’s customer service policies. - Maintain positive relationships with store and dispensary managers. - Manage patient queues effectively.

Competencies: - Proficiency in English and another language (reading, writing, and speaking) - Excellent communication and listening skills - Strong focus on customer service - High attention to detail - Strong numerical skills - Problem-solving abilities - Team-oriented with a trustworthy and honest demeanor - Effective time management - Ability to handle pressure - Proficiency in MS Office
