### Minimum Requirements


**Essential** - Grade 12 / Matric - BPharm or equivalent qualification - Registration with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC) - Minimum of 2–3 years’ experience in a pharmaceutical setting, including 2–3 years in a retail pharmacy - Proficiency in MS Office


**Advantageous** - Experience in retail/FMCG environments - Knowledge of a third language - Familiarity with SAP and e‑scripting - Registered tutor or Unisolv experience

### Duties & Responsibilities


**Dispensing of Medication** - Dispense medication under the direct supervision of a pharmacist. - Interpret prescriptions accurately, acting professionally and responsibly in accordance with the South African Pharmaceutical Council’s regulations. - Capture prescription details precisely and verify patient information within the system. - Ensure accurate picking, packing, labeling, and checking of medication, while staying aware of common dosages and significant drug interactions. - Provide clear instructions to patients regarding proper medication usage. - Stay current with changes in medical aid procedures and dispensing requirements.


**Customer Service** - Advise and assist patients at the dispensary, self‑medication counter, and front‑shop. - Follow up with patients on prescription tracking reports as requested by the dispensary manager and manage appointment follow‑ups. - Explain all medical aid costs to patients.


**Administration** - Process all paperwork necessary for accurate medical aid claim submissions. - Correct errors on scripts rejected by medical aids. - Secure authorization for chronic, HIV/AIDS, and oncology medications. - Maintain customer profiles on the system, merging local profiles and notifying Vexall for central merges. - Address any messages on customer profiles and take appropriate action.


**Stock Control** - Report low or out‑of‑stock levels and stock discrepancies to the dispensary manager. - Facilitate bi‑annual stock takes. - Exercise control over stock, cash, and assets.

**Essential** - Comprehensive knowledge of medicines, including common dosing regimes, interactions, and counselling for optimal treatment outcomes. - Understanding of retail pharmacy operations. - Strong critical‑thinking abilities. - Excellent communication skills to guide patients on medication usage and side effects; capable of engaging with all community members. - Proficiency in English and a second language (reading, writing, speaking). - Problem‑solving aptitude and awareness of when and to whom to elevate issues. - Role‑model behaviour, promoting high standards and quality. - Demonstrated drive to maintain quality without compromise. - Effective time management and deadline adherence. - Patience and composure in stressful situations. - Computer and numerical proficiency, including Unisolv, SAP, and e‑scripting.
