Dis‑Chem Pharmacies is actively seeking a qualified Dispensary Manager to oversee operations at its East London location. ### Essential Qualifications - Grade 12 / Matric, BPharm or an equivalent qualification - Current registration with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC) - Registered tutor status - Proven experience with Unisolv - Demonstrated ability to supervise a team - Proficiency in Microsoft Office - Strong numerical aptitude - Excellent command of English and fluency in a second language - Willingness and flexibility to work retail hours

### Key Duties and Responsibilities


  • Ensure that both the dispensary and self‑medication sections are adequately staffed and that all personnel operate within their scope of practice. - Enforce adherence to Good Pharmacy Practice regulations among staff. - Prevent the retention of expired or short‑dated inventory and ensure proper disposal of such stock, keeping it segregated from usable items. - Investigate and manage negative stock levels daily. - Prepare for stocktakes in advance and follow the established ordering process to maximise purchasing compliance. - Maintain optimal stock levels and secure Schedule 6 medications, keeping the register balanced quarterly. - Keep SAPC registration and annual fees current. - Accurately interpret prescriptions, acting responsibly and within legal requirements set by the SAPC. - Record prescription details precisely and verify patient information within the system. - Execute correct picking, packing, labeling and checking of medicines, remaining aware of common dosages and significant drug interactions. - Provide patients with clear instructions on proper medication use. - Stay informed about updates to medical aid procedures and claim requirements. - Explain all medical aid costs to patients and process paperwork for accurate claim submission. - Authorise chronic, HIV/AIDS and oncology medication as required. - Maintain customer profiles in the system, merge local profiles and notify UCS for central merges. - Record any messages on customer profiles and act accordingly. - Train the Dispensary Admin Assistant to handle the bulk of administrative tasks.
