POSITION: Assistant Technician
JOB REQUIREMENTS & OTHER ATTRIBUTES: - PSIRA registered (Grade C) - Demonstrated capability to work under pressure and exhibit meticulous attention to detail
QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE: - Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent qualification - Minimum 1 year of experience as a Wireman - Practical knowledge in electrical/electronic work is advantageous
MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB: To provide support to the Installations Technician with the installation of alarm system cabling, drilling, and the connection of detectors and panels. Capable of powering up and conducting walk-tests on the system independently.
DUTIES: - Assist the technician with installations of alarm and security equipment - Help in the removal of old equipment from clients' premises - Run new cables, apply glue, and drill holes, and mount detectors, panels, contacts, and lights - Inform the technician of any equipment or tool limitations - Notify the technician of cabling requirements for installations - Support the technician with user functions and complete a handover process - Clean vehicles and premises following installations
